Mate, I’m just happy to have people that genuinely want improvement and a place to be. I was admittedly not around during either of the events you speak off, because I didn’t participate actively in the fandom till the end of 2014, and public in 2015, increasing since. But if it weren’t for this fandom, I wouldn’t be where I am. The fandom gave me friends, who helped build me up and helped me see my own potential. I’ve gotten this far, I don’t plan to stop.

Good. I really hope this site does well. It’s a good start.

Ever since 2017 I’ve had a dream of writing and arting for a pony visual novel puzzler game. Based heavily on games like 999, Hotel Dusk, Ace Attorney. It’s the whole reason I bought a Wacom and started practicing art, and why I improved my prose and worldbuilding skills.
 
But now I’m worried that with how psychotic and politically extreme this fandom and the rest of the world has become, I won’t find someone to work on it with (I only know basic programming and music software). Even worse, the game is themed around fantasy law enforcement and the justice system, which are awfully popular to hate nowadays.
 
I knew I was gonna be creating for a limited crowd, but man, chances are looking slimmer each year for my dream project.

Most people don’t hate the police. It’s just the extreme cringe fringe who shout the loudest and are willing to use political violence to get their way. And when they do (as in the former Soyviet Union/CHAZ) they IMMEDIATELY establish a police force of their own, because they do not hate the institution of the police, they just want to be the ones who are in control. And when push comes to shove, like when the “peaceful” “summer of love” radical Marxist CHAZ thugs threatened the Seattle Mayor’s home, she immediately did a 180 and had the police disburse the whole gathering in an afternoon.
 
Most people just want to live their lives the way they’ve always lived them and feel safe. Unfortunately, part of feeling safe is not speaking up when violent radicals are torching buildings, smashing heads with bike locks, and doxxing people. This makes it appear as if the radicals represent a much more popular viewpoint, but they don’t, people just shut their mouths out of fear for life, employment, and property.
 
Normal people might not like the schoolyard bully tough guy swagger many police officers put on, and they don’t like the idea that someone can give them speeding tickets seemingly at random and set up checkpoints at the end of every month to meet their arbitrary ticket quota, but most people understand and desire there to be someone looking out for their safety if need be.

I’m probably biased because one of my best friends is a cop, but it’s all so tiring.  
I love police detective and courtroom drama fiction. I wish the quiet majority would speak up already so I can enjoy them and not worry about being called names and threatened.
 
On a totally different note, why does music software have to be so got dang difficult to work with? I just wanna easily put the melodies in my head onto paper, man

Tricky bastards forced an update on me last July. I must have spent two weeks looking for a way to regain control. WUB is great. I still have to check that it doesn’t shut off every day (because once it did randomly shut off, but only once in the past year), but now I’m protected from forced updates.
 
If it was just security patches I wouldn’t have a problem, but Microshaft wants to force a whole new OS build every couple months, and I will not consent to that.
 
I’m still looking for a legit non-OEM copy of Windows 7 so I can permanently downgrade. Windows 7 was the best. Just include a DOSBox for playing old games and I’ll be good to go.

I’ll probably leave 7 x64 Ultimate Edition on this system and just throw in with 10 Enterprise when I eventually buy my next generation supercomputer. Planning on a 3990x, just need a few things sorted out.

Yeaaaaah… I set Win7 EoL as my upgrade point. When that happened, I took the backdoor in to the late free upgrade. Being a gamer and knowing Win10 exclusive DirectX features were inevitible(sp?), I bit the bullet.

I’ll have to look into WUB, though I get the feeling this update might invalidate it. Trash aside (they even force-installed Skype and made an account for me without my permission, what the actual fuck), there are a couple key security features rolled in, plus core DX12 support. And don’t get me started on DOSbox; I have a hobby of taking GOG-supplied configurations for games and tuning them rather than building configs from scratch.

I’ve still managed to skate on most DX12 issues.  
The only thing I’ve run in to is AVX, and that was once. But that is a processor issue.

It also made Xbox controllers no longer work with your computer. Luckily, it’s possible to rollback your windows to before the change. Go to Settings, and look through ‘Update and Security’, you should find a way. After it’s done and windows restarts, hit ‘windows key+r’, type ‘services.msc’ and look for ‘windows update’. Right-click it, and where it says ‘manual’, change it to ‘disabled’. This last part isn’t a permanent or long-lasting fix, you’ll have to re-do it daily. But it works for me, for now.

I’ve got mine working; thankfully (I can’t believe I’m saying this), I’m relying on Steam’s controller framework to use my DS4 and alternate XB360 pads, and they’re working like a charm after hotplugging them once. But I’m still finding tons of privacy settings that were undone and this game of whack-a-mole is really getting to me.

I know I have a problem with my GPU, being a radeon VII and having the drivers crash to a black screen and reboot the system at times when playing games, so I mostly just stick to playing non-gpu heavy stuff like Space Station 13.

If you ever want to sell it, let me know. They have really bad issues with stability (all the used ones I seen for sale say the same thing). Interested in tearing it down and installing a chilled water block for some open source projects that require AMD gpu’s for acceleration. It wouldn’t matter if it crashed in those apps.

It is for Vivecraft.

I literately have no clue what GPU installed on my computer. Since someone at my Dad’s workplace built for us.

I bought a geoforce 1080 back in 2016. I’m really tempted to upgrade but I can’t justify spending 1100$ on a 2080 yet. Maybe I’ll wait 2 or 3 more years. I can still play most new releases on high settings.

Im still running a 980ti SC from like 2015 and can run most games on high still
 
even 4k runs decently.
 
Only reason for me to upgrade is Vr honestly.
