Windows Update Blocker.
Tricky bastards forced an update on me last July. I must have spent two weeks looking for a way to regain control. WUB is great. I still have to check that it doesn't shut off every day (because once it did randomly shut off, but only once in the past year), but now I'm protected from forced updates.
If it was just security patches I wouldn't have a problem, but Microshaft wants to force a whole new OS build every couple months, and I will not consent to that.
I'm still looking for a legit non-OEM copy of Windows 7 so I can permanently downgrade. Windows 7 was the best. Just include a DOSBox for playing old games and I'll be good to go.
