VR is a mixed game. 980ti delivered at a reasonable pace. It was improved by turning the monitor off. (I know, weird but true. You will gain about 10-20 fps, critical in VR)
Vivecraft, for example, is extremely CPU dependent. On my 2080ti it is difficult to push the rendering distance, let alone custom textures and shaders on my ancient i7 920 processor.
In the meantime, I can throw Doom at the i7 920 and 2080, it’ll eat it (with a lengthy load) and render at 4k 60fps with no issues.
