“I thought you said those were waterproof, Dash?” Scootaloo inquired as she watched the Pegasus Gingerly step in further, jeans rolled up into fine cuffs.
“They are, Scoots!” Rainbow Dash smirked back in response. “But I ain’t flying and catching a cool breeze in this humidity, so might as well get comfortable! I ain’t keen on sweating buckets on my day off.”
“Fair enough, would have been cool to see you stomp on some fishies though!” Scootaloo chuckled, stomping her foot into the stream, kicking up sediment and plenty of water in the process.
“And ruin our dinner? Picking your dinner out of your boot treads is a good way to lose your appetite there, Scootster! A real Mare can catch a fishie with her bare hands! Show me what you got, Scoots! I bet you can catch something bigger then a guppie this time!” Rainbow Dash laughed, shaking her combat boots in a jeering manner. It was all in good fun, though. As much as the two loved each others company, they still enjoyed a nice little jab at the others expense.
To be perfectly honest. Rainbow Dash would have rather kicked back in the safety of an air conditioned cottage with her hand on the remote and a cold beer in her hand. WonderBolt drills have been pushing her harder then ever this week so the idea of kicking her feet up while Scootaloo hogged the battered game console sounded like a little slice of heaven.
However, there was one factor that made the trek out to this neck of the woods worth all the effort in Equestria.
“Oh, I know Rarity means well by updating my wardrobe and helping me be the talk of the town, but I think this dress will have the town talking in ways she never intended!” Fluttershy quietly complained, flattening out her dress with the palm of her hand. The fabric itself was very flattering and comfortable. However, the major problem with Fluttershy’s ensemble was plain and simple just from sight alone.
It revealed too much for comfort. Especially for somepony like Fluttershy!
“Well, good thing we’re far from town, eh’ Flutters?” Rainbow Dash coyly snickered. Rarity never had any ill intentions in designing the dress for her, but she did owe Rainbow Dash for a day worth of posing in more dresses the Rainbow Maned Pegasus ever laid her eyes on in her life. “Come on, we going to be taking that stroll up stream like you talked about? Don’t tell me your afraid of a little bit of cold water!” Fluttershy hugged her sandals as she tentatively dug her toes into the smooth rocks on the shore.
“I’d love to.” Fluttershy Murmured. “I’m just a little flustered. What if somepony see’s me?”
“I’m seeing you right now. Not sure anypony caught a glimpse as we flew over here, can’t say anypony batted an eye as you fluttered over the stream in those 300 bit sandals. Perfectly acceptable outer-wear for this weather and terrain if you ask me.” Rainbow Dash finished her compliment with a tongue in her cheek and a wink. “Besides, you were the one who decided to put it on for today? And why is that?”
“It… it feels…” Fluttershy smiled. “Nice… Nice and…” She flicked her tail as a light breeze picked up her skirt trails. “…breezy… Maybe it is nice to get out of your comfort zone. This dress would be quite nice for out little date tonight as well…”
“That’s the spirit, Flutters!” Rainbow Dash squeezed her wife’s hand. “Ain’t nopony out here but us anyway! Now! Are we going to kick this streams butt or not? I’d love to see this clearing you told me so much about!” And with that, Fluttershy stepped into the stream, enjoying the cold rush that ran up her legs against the dry air.
“I GOT ONE, I GOT ONE!!” Scootaloo cheered as she hoisted a massive Tuna out of the shallow stream. “Have you ever seen such a sight!?”
“Oh, I can’t say I have, Scootster!” Rainbow Dash smirked, marveling at the sight of Fluttershy’s brea-I MEAN dress.
