I’d also point out that we spent very little time in Dash’s house, but there were a lot of scenes with Fluttershy’s cottage and Golden Oaks Library. That gave a lot more time to get attached to them. We also spent a lot of time at Sweet Apple Acres, but more the exterior and the orchard, the home itself is nice, but actually had surprisingly little identity. I had to really sit down and think about it to remember that AJ and her family actually live in that barn we always saw, somehow the show never really connected the location with the home for me.

That’s true. Rainbow’s cloud house is pretty sweet. But Fluttershy and Twilight’s houses are places that I could envision being usable by me as a human. The cloudominium is unfeasible outside Equestria.
