It has come to my attention that at least in the USA’s homefront, websites have been altering their policies, implementing filter systems focused on people from a specific country, or outright removing the content completely in order to prevent users in the USA from being able to view lolicon. As far as I am aware, legally in the USA is it NOT a criminal offense to view and/or possess fictional underaged content.
There have been cases in the past that have tried to prosecute for it but usually the only ones that succeeded in being convicted were people who also possessed or had internet history of real underaged minors as well. Very few have even been taken to court much less convicted for viewing and/or possessing underage artwork.
This being said, I’m worried something may have changed legally in the USA for websites to be panic blocking lolicon. Some moron in the legal office trying to amend a law or some shit to make pixels on a screen a criminal offense or something and i’m worried ponyboru will buckle under this legal scrutiny as well.
I don’t know what’s going on legally in the USA but i just found it worrysome that websites like pixvix and e261 were suddenly blocking lolicon or deleting it from their websites which prompted this post in the first place.

For Pixiv it’s thankfully just a region block. I mean that site is owned by Japan for goodness sake though western politics have been slowly creeping.

It’s likely more to do with payment processors “”“having an issue””” with it and that causing sites to nudge their content in a different direction away from that. Could also just be a stand alone complex of internal actors pushing virtue signaling harder over the years, or even a mix of both.
