A clerk at a USA courthouse commented that the place is so disorganized that it is like a black hole because files go in and can never be found again. A black co-worker was triggered by this and shouted at him “No, it’s a white hole!” and the judge made the clerk call the office a white hole instead of a black hole even though they are totally opposite things.
This was in 2008 by the way. Things have only gotten much, much worse since.

Kim Jong Il allegedly invented the hamburger and the burrito and hit a hole-in-one every time he played golf. Having realized it was unfair to play because no one could ever beat him he gave up the sport. His body does not produce waste in any form, having been born of a unicorn under a double rainbow on the sacred Mt. Paektu. Winter ended at the exact moment the Dear Reader was born and it became spring. To celebrate this occasion the people of North Korea are given extra food and electricity rations.

Stahlhelms were introduced by the German Empire at the end of WWI and were used by the Weimar Republic, but they became associated with the Third Reich of WWII instead.
The M56 helmet (technically a Stahlhelm in the sense that it was literally a ‘steel helmet’) was created by the Third Reich at the end of WWII, but became associated with the Nationale Volksarmee in the Cold War instead.

The helmets were pressed from a disk of nickel steel. They had to be pressed in stages otherwise the thickness at the crown would be too thin and the thickness at the rim would be too thick. Pressing it in stages evens out the thickness across the whole curvature of the helmet.

There is an underwater museum called MUSA (Museo Subacuático de Arte) located off the coast of Isla Mujeres and Cancún in Mexico. This unique museum features over 500 life-sized sculptures submerged in the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. The sculptures, made from materials that promote coral growth, serve a dual purpose: as an artistic attraction for divers and snorkelers and as an artificial reef to support marine life.

The Anglo-Zanzibar War of 1896 was the shortest recorded war in history, lasting only 45 minutes.
Despite being outnumbered by more than 2:1, the British only took a single casualty (who later recovered) while inflicting 500.

Default search

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
