*Suddenly, Star realized how confused every pony around her was. Did they not know who she was? Celestia- Her mother… She had so many mixed emotions on her face. She looked confused as well, concerned even? Her soft voice was thick with the emotion building in the back of her throat,“Starry? How can this be? We- They sent you away… You were never supposed to know!”
Star couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She was never supposed to know that she was the daughter of THE Princess Celestia!? How selfish could these royal ponies be?? Anger and hurt bloomed ugly in Stars chest, and she glared up at her mother. “I- What!? Are you kidding!? I deserve to know who I am!”
She could feel hot tears threatening to spill down her pink cheeks, but all of the anger went away the moment she saw the look on her mothers face. Celestia leaned down to look into Stars eyes while her own were glistening, pooling with tears as well. Her voice broke as she whispered to her daughter, her eyes full of pain as a single tear fell. “Please forgive me… I never wanted it to be this way. I wanted to keep you. They gave me no choice. I am so sorry.”
Star was completely taken aback, her eyes wide with shock. What? They… They forced The Princess to give up her first born child? How cruel were the traditions of royalty? Grief and guilt and fear all blended together in Celestia’s eyes, and Star couldn’t stop herself from lunging forward to hug her mother. She had been waiting her whole life for this moment, and now that she knew her mother wasn’t going to turn her away… Maybe they could be a family again. *
