A month passes by.

Twilight remained in a coma for that long and every day, Sunset would visit, and sometimes, stay the night for her weakened friend, squeezing her cold hand and kissing it over and over, hoping to the Princesses that she pulls through. It was a morning before class, Sunset came before school would start. She walked into the room she was staying in and took a good long look at her friend. A feeling of regret and shame came over Sunset when she entered her room, she steadily walked towards Twilight’s bed and she knelt to the ground, holding Twilight’s hand, all hooked up to machinery to keep her alive.

“I don’t care how long it takes, I’m going to be here as often as I can.” Sunset croaked.

Sunset spent a few minutes in total silence with her friend. Looking at her watch, she knew it was time to go to class. Gathering herself and trying to face the day with a smile on her face, she kisses Twilight’s forehead and exits to her bike.

In Twilight’s room, something wasn’t… right. Just like at Camp Everfree. Objects in the room and her own bed and even Twilight herself began to suddenly levitate with a violet magical aura. A few moments later, everything settled back down with a thud. Twilight slowly began to come to, opening her eyes slowly. It was hard to see without her glasses, thinking she’s still in her room, believing she had just napped from her self harming session. She couldn’t be more wrong.

“Uhn.. what..” Twilight looked around. She couldn’t see far but she could make out the objects in the room; heart monitor, IV stand, whole blood pouch, hospital bed brackets. Something horrible happened. Twilight grabbed the IV stand and removed the covers she had and angled her very atrophied body towards the side of the bed. The doctors and nurses were all at the station across the hall; no one could hear or see her. Twilight, using what very little strength she has, braces herself against the IV stand. She had lost a lot of weight in the month she was bed ridden, so using all her strength to hold herself up by the stand wasn’t too difficult. She could hear Sunset at the nurse’s station. “I’ll be back around 4 to… spend some time with her. I know she’s not conscious, but she needs me right-” Sunset heard a familiar groan of pain. She slowly turned to look at Twilight, standing in the hallway, barely conscious, grasping the IV pole. Everything sort of froze for a few moments as the two girls looked each other in the eye.

“Sunset…”

Twilight collapsed after saying a single word and Sunset came to her side. Her arms and legs were frail, muscle degradation of being bed ridden has really taken a toll on her. Sunset picked her up again as the nurses and doctors came to Sunset’s aid, returned Twilight to her bed. Sunset brushed the hair away from Twilight’s face and held her pale violet head in her hands.

“Twilight!! Oh thank the Princesses, you’re up!” She hugged her friend tightly. Twilight was a little smothered, being in a coma meant she had lost quite a bit of weight and felt quite brittle. “Y-yes.. by the Princesses, what happened to me.. all I remember is writing that note and-and.. passing out..” Twilight blushed slightly, remembering the last bit of the note she made for her parents, mentioning Sunset herself.

“Shh shh, just rest. You’ll be okay. I promise. I’ll skip school today and spend it with you, you are more important.” Sunset hugged and kissed Twilight’s forehead as Sunset began to tell Twilight the gist of the events that led up to her coma.
