Anyone remember this little gem from March 2011?
Eeyup! This is a redo of that old pic of mine in show-accurate vector form! I think I’m gonna see if I can redo a lot of my old comics like this for the fun of it to kinda harken back to old times and because I need to do comics more. These old comics are kinda terribly drawn, true, but I still love looking at them cuz it reminds me of when I first got into the show and started making fanart. It was such a memorable time of my life I never want to forget!
Well you can see some vast improvements here. Obvious improvement is that I used an actual vector program this time and my show-accurate puppets worked well with it. It wasn’t too difficult posing all the characters the way they needed to be though the expressions in the second panel needed a bit more work obviously. Quite a few things changed like I didn’t have Spike standing on the table cuz he looked a bit too small in my old comic anyway and he could just be hoisted up on some little stool or something in the new version. Rarity also doesn’t have green on her about-to-puke face in the second panel cuz I forgot and also cuz it’s a minor detail. Spacing things around to look almost exactly spot on with the original wasn’t quite possible in the end due to how out-of-proportion and inaccurate a lot of things are with the original but that was how I drew back then so oh well. Not much else to say besides the obvious style and quality improvement. I’d say it turned out great!
It is kinda odd that I made that old comic as a way to sort of insult people in the fandom who drew inappropriate art of the ponies despite the fact that I’ve drawn a few saucy pics here and there, but I wasn’t thinking of my kind of art, I was thinking of the really extreme stuff anyway. I will be honest, I was a tad bit immature back then and this art was a bit too much of a jab, but I redid it cuz I still think it’s funny and I’m pretty sure most people are ok with it. For anyone wondering, I am not as put-off by Rule 34 or anything these days, I just ignore it. The fact that there is some graphic content in the MLP fandom is a bit disturbing but I have grown a thicker skin over time and I can put up with the fact that it exists. That said, there’s nothing stopping you from criticizing it but I would encourage everyone to be as smart as you can. Sometimes the best way to do it is through a little comedy like this silly comic.
Well that’s all for now and let me know what comic you guys would like to see revisted in show-accurate vector style! They can be found here: aleximusprime.deviantart.com/g…
