“The Palux is a predatory creature that makes its home in the marshlands. Mostly amphibious, the creature can spend extended periods of time out of the water in search for food, and uses its long, tube-like tongue to suck prey out of tight spaces. When physical ability fails, their species has developed magical abilities, using the orb at the end of their tails to levitate objects, or even other living things. They’ve even been known to use the power of psychic suggestion, occasionally. Though their magical prowess pales in comparison to a practiced unicorn’s, they are a force to be reckoned with nonetheless.
 
if you happen to be traversing the marshlands late at night, and notice a spectacular lightshow, don’t be fooled. the Palux uses a form of bioluminescence to communicate with others of its kind, though it’s still under study, it’s thought that the particular patterns in the Palux’s tail and body are how the Palux identify one another.
