Firstly, the background nebula was painted into a completely separate piece of paper! She took great care in cutting out Luna with a knife from my original paper, as it was just too thin to work on properly for the background. she then pasted it onto of the finished background!
Luna herself is rendered in colored pencil, but the piece some other mixed media as well! Glitter glued onto the jewelry making the piece sparkle wonderfully IRL. She also glued half-spherical acrylic beads onto her mane to simulate the stars in her mane!
And lastly she spent a LONG time editing the photo to make it match the original piece’s color balance as well as possible. This was a lot of work, and we both hope you enjoy this piece as much as we do!
