Radiant Quartzite Belle

Parents: Rarity Belle and Spike

Gender: Female (she/her)

Quartz is a very special mare. She’s one of the first known pony/dragon hybrids to be born and with that she also holds a special power, she inherited Spike’s magic fire breath! No other pony (or hybrid) is known to possess this type magic. But her differences don’t stop there, being part dragon she also has dragon wings, slit eyes (in the shape of diamonds!) a dragon tongue, and some scales! Though she did inherit her mother’s beautiful hair as well. She also has a short and slender build. Rarity lovingly refers to Dian as her “little gem”. She’s uses both of her nicknames equally

I wasn’t entirely sure about this ship at first. I’ve always thought of Rarity as an adult and Spike as a child (in show), so even though my AU is set in the future, there would be a large age gap. But then I realized Twilight was a filly when she hatched Spike, making him only a few years younger than her. And if the main 6 are all the same age (or close to it) then Spike and Rarity would only have a few year age gap. So I dove back into it and here we are! I really love how her design came together, but another thing I love about her is her name. I think the long name is absolutely something Rarity would come up with. And the nickname Dian out of all that makes me giggle. I’m also not 100% satisfied with her cutie mark yet, but I went through quite a few options and this is what I’ve settled on for now 😅
