Today’s prompt: Draw a pony learning the ropes / Draw a pony offering a pearl of wisdom.
This is my first time drawing Cookie’s mentor, Knick Knack, who was the previous proprietor of Curios, the antiques shop she now runs. With her special talent of magical carbon-dating, Cookie was an invaluable assistant to a collector of the ancient and historical like Knick Knack, who’d had poor luck with shop assistants in the past. He was also something of a father-figure to her, Cookie having become distant from her own family, save for her brother Biscotti, Pastel’s father.
Unfortunately, Knick Knack isn’t around anymore. Despite how she feels on slow business days, Cookie still feels it’s her duty to run the shop in his place, as her way of repaying her old mentor for his kindness and wisdom. Her adventures with Syntax to collect new treasures are also a way of staying true to his memory, finding new pieces of history to give purpose and use again.
