I redrew this piece after seeing the total eclipse in person in Dallas, TX. We were out in the middle of the country where the path of totality was right above us.
Some changes I made:
• Changed the Corona from gold to white
• Added the magenta solar storms
• Elongated the sides of the corona
• Dimmed the drawing
I have seen pictures and videos of the eclipse, but nothing prepared me for what I was about to see in the sky. When I removed the glasses and looked up, I was so utterly shocked at the magnitude of it’s beauty.
I certainly didn’t expect it to be so colorful. The outer edges where the solar flares are were bright magenta, the corona which is the sun’s atmosphere was bright white. It was absoulutely gorgeous.
I highly recommend seeing a total eclipse in totality in your lifetime. It is definitely worth travelling for. It made me realize how insignifant all my problems were and how incredibly lucky we are to be on planet earth.
