I see the similarity.
In my headcannon, Opaline slays Celestia. And Twylight blames herself. And when thawed out, she is broken until Sunny helps her. And Sunny reveals the truth Marer Do Well (forged from Twylight, Applejack, Rarity and Pinkie’s darker selves) slew Celestia instead of her.
