Here is a drawing of Grandpa Gruff and Gruncle Gonsod’s “First Ladies”, Grandma Grizel and Grandma Gwyneth. Initially, it was just a martial arts practice between friends and everything was just fine, until Grandpa Gruff overdid it when performing a Mae-Geri (front kick) on Gwyneth and ended up accidentally hurting her. And tackling his friend with a triple Saddle Arabian flip wasn’t a very good idea. Gwyth isn’t mad at Gruff as she knows it was an accident, but saying her bruises didn’t hurt would be kind of a lie. Her roommate, Grandma Grizel, was NOT happy with Gwyneth’s injuries when she got home. Being the down-to-earth, slightly pacifistic woman she is and a great contrast to Gruff’s other admirers, Grizel will vocalise what Gruff does wrong regardless of her feelings for him and won’t agree with him on everything just to ‘keep him around, because he’s a Griffon’. However, she will not judge him and make him feel less in any way, instead opting to give her vulture-like friend advice, much like Gruncle Gonsod does. Though she really hates it when Gruff acts incautiously like that. For anyone wondering, the title is a play of the idiom “ruffle someone’s feathers”, which basically means “to cause someone to become annoyed or upset.” In this case, this works both figuratively and literally as Grizel is annoyed with Gruff’s carelessness and Gwyneth’s feathers and fur are ruffled from the wrestling.
