I was flying carefully through the sky, cutting the various clouds like a knife as I dived through them, creating a hole that soon was parched up by the cumulonimbus, leaving no trace that I pierced through their fluffy white formation. I’ve been flying like this for at the very least two hours, to deliver some important mail to an airport in Canterlot (Which was rather new in construction… and a marvel of engineering to build an airport supporting the biggest airliners in such a diminutive capital). They didn’t specify me what the mail was, although I was supposed to not ask for these things anyways; reading other ponies mail was a crime and I didn’t want the Equestria’s Postal Service to bust my butt.
Internally, I was really thankful that I wasn’t a Pegasus… you might be wondering… how this pony could actively fly around if he was not a Pegasus? Maybe you think that I’m a really powerful unicorn that can levitate itself across the vast lands of Equestria… or even an alicorn… The truth is that, while I’d love to have magical prowess like these species, and I’d probably do a lot of stuff if I had magic, I was just a simple fluffy plane pony in construction. I didn’t need to use telekinesis and transport my body around floating like a ghost, neither I needed to flap my wings repeatedly in order to attain lift (Thing I was extremely thankful of, because I’m sure that a 2 hours flight would leave sore wings for any Pegasus… excluding Rainbow Dash), I just needed a decent amount of fuel in my kerosene tanks, and good maintenance on my nose engine, and I was good to go.
This made things way, way easier than you would expect. As you’d imagine, I could fly for longer periods of time than a regular Pegasus, and attain more altitude since I wasn’t limited by the lesser amount of oxygen up higher. I basically just flew towards an area without any disturbance except the constant boredom. Even then, I wasn’t something fancy like a jet, I was just a rather young mail plane pony that was tasked with… well… delivery of mail and letters by the thousands, a Mitsubishi F1M2 by design, often nicknamed “Pete” for some reason, with dark gray body and wings, and a brownish mane with additional brown highlights. Yeh yeh I was a floatplane but the airports I operated with often had a lake for that exact purpose, and I could still land on the ground with my regular pony hooves.
The trip towards Canterlot was awfully uneventful, to the point I was bored enough that I might as well fall asleep during the flight (Another advantage of being a plane pony and able to keep the engine running… though of course the tiny pilot pony on my cabin could fly with his controls). The regular monotony of my job was usual, nothing was heard except the air colliding with my metal wings and the consistent buzzing of my propeller which was like white noise, and as such I was too confident that everything would be the same as any other flight, to the point that I didn’t manage to see the vertical fin that was trailing through the clouds under my flying figure, below the blanket of white, potentially revealing something huge underneath, like if it were a shark fin in the middle of the ocean circling on an unsuspecting prey.
In the distance, I saw a familiar pony. She was a light blue Pegasus with rainbow-colored mane… she looked so tiny from my perspective, although she was very far away… to not mention that I was thrice her size. She seemed to recognize me and headed my way, according to my boss she was going to aid me, in a sense, leading me towards Canterlot. Think of it as an escort of sorts, helpful since I generally didn’t go to the capital of Equestria so I was a bit lost, especially not on this route; they had their own set of mailmares to work locally; I was just needed when the distance was too extensive for them to handle. The Pegasus mare started flying towards me, my constant speed being quite similar to hers, especially because she wasn’t actively trying to get to me in an instant.
And then out of sudden… a giant, massive, outright colossal figure appeared behind the Element of Loyalty. I let out a loud and high-pitched scream in Japanese of “それは一体何ですか!?” (Sore wa ittai nanidesu ka!?) [What the hell is that?!] as I almost immediately turned around, taking advantage of the higher maneuverability that I had despite being a floatplane. The pilot in my cabin had basically the same reaction as I saw that towering wall of light blue fluff with cyan and white mane emerge from the sea of white clouds underneath, casting a shadow upon us, both my pilot, me, and the unlucky Rainbow Dash who was confused as to why I was flying away from her, until she noticed too the lack of light directed towards her, and as she looked back, she got the same expression of abject surprise, and probably uttered the same words as I did, but in English of course.
Before I had the time to run away fully, I was embraced in a fluffy cyan embrace by some kind of gigantic creature, which afterwards I realized was a plane pony… or a pony ‘ploneified’, a popular thing people did it seemed… either way, she had managed to tackle me down midair and hug me in a surprisingly soft and comfortable snuggle, and I could also see that Rainbow Dash was the unlucky bystander between us both, squeezed between fluff, unnoticed by the giant pony sharing the coat-color with her. With a closer inspection, I realized that she was a modern Airbus A380 airliner plane pony, explaining the respectable size difference that dwarfed me and made Rainbow Dash and my pilots as mere specks of dust, figuratively speaking.
“Huuugs!” The Airbus plane pony, which seemed to be named ‘Ravist’ if the writing under her cabin-like eyes were something to go by, said with a gleeful and happy tone, hugging me tighter every time. Thank goodness my frame was quite durable… though I probably wouldn’t have been damaged either way, seeing that Rainbow Dash was holding quite fine, if still annoyed at being unable to move. “You little things are so cute! I love how I tower over you! I’m so big! Being a plane pony is great!” She said with a excited voice that actually made me think of a filly, though she seemed a mare… a very happy and excited mare that was currently forcing me into her fluffy chest. She was losing a bit of altitude while she kept us, both Element Bearer and me, in a tight hug, not allowing us to go away. I kicked and trashed a little bit, intending on delivering mail as much as this broke the boring and slightly bland monotony of work, unable to do much other than grow bigger in size but I didn’t want to hurt or inconvenience Dash.
“So cute you might be my pet or toys or plushies!” She added after a bit of a pause, which made Rainbow squeak a low grunt as she squirmed between us both trying to break free. “Could you give us space, agh?” She asked, before I could pretty much ask the same thing. There was a… brief moment of realization… as her eyes suddenly went bigger than dinner plates, yet her pupils did the opposite and shrank down. “AAAAAA I’m sorry Miss Dashie! I-I…. I-I’m just… excited! I just b-became a plane pony and I l-love being this big and having size-shifting powers I’m sorry!” She explained in a hurry as she freed us both, embarrassed, a bit fearful, and blushing profusely. “S-sorry Miss Dash!” ‘Ravist’ continued to apologize as she seemed to fear that her idol and favorite poner would think bad of her. “I-I-I’m w-well, R-Ravist Pisum, a-and I’m your biggest fan… um… literally… h-heh-heheh… Sorry!”.
“Uh… it’s okay kiddo… I mean, Ravist… I…” Rainbow said as she tried to stretch her wings and hooves, a bit dizzy of what just happened. I didn’t dare to say anything to not turn the situation worse between the ‘skittles with a mix of blue’ and cute and nervous as a button ‘toothpaste-mane’ giant poner, although I still gently nudged the Pegasus with one hoof to let her know that we still had to deliver that pesky mail, and then perhaps we’d resume with our lives as normal ponies. Rainbow Dash seemed like she was about to say something to ‘Ravist’ but she was stopped by my interruption. “R-right… yeah, sorry for not sticking long but we’ve got to deliver Celestia’s mail telling her cake had run out so… catch you l-“ The wild Pegasus was about to ‘shoot and scoot’, or basically prepare to leave, before Ravist interjected her sentence “O-Oh! I-I could carry you both there! Yes yes that’s the least I can do not like I was going to go there to be macro in Equestria’s capital anyways. Anything for the Element of Loyalty and best flyer in the world!”
“Heh… t-thanks… and huh… sure why not?” Dashie said, still confused of what just happened but making sense out of things now, well, trying to at the very least. Meanwhile I was there like the third weird of the shared monocycle that had these two, but I didn’t mind the idea of delivering this mail quicker than expected, in any case they gave me tips for being fast… in retrospect I’d have to share my tips with Ravist but I don’t really mind that at all. The Airbus plone gently picked Dash up and put her in her mane, indicating her to hold tightly as she, at the same time, picked me up like if I was some kind of torpedo or blahaj, keeping me under her as she started flying towards the marble, ivory-white city in the mountains, while I felt a bit like a parasite fighter aircraft as I turned off my engine, allowing me to get carried away, both literally and figuratively. “So, how is life for the greatest pony ever?” Ravist Pisum asked with that childish excitement when you meet Santa, earning a giggle from me.
Yay this is one of RavistDash’s favorite aircraft I’m excited!
Wait… oh yeah describe the drawing here, right, thank you. Anyways I drew Ravist Pisum (RavistDash’s OC just in case you didn’t notice x3) as an Airbus A380 plane pony… I think it’s one of the first plane-pony-fication of an OC I’ve done and I’m kinda proud of my result x3. Anyways the wings were too big to fit but making them fit would mean smaller Ravist and Ravist can’t be possibly small, right? Unless she’d be the small pone with a big Rainbow Dash XP
I like how ‘bright’ and ‘standing’ her Cutie Mark came out, and I tried to make her the fluffiest as possible because of course I draw everything fluffy. The ‘clouds’ above are actually trees but by the color they seem almost gray-white so you might be forgiven for thinking they’re clouds too (Forgiving you it’s Ravist choice >:3c). And if this was actually based on real life Rainbow Dash would be smaller, oh, so much smaller, thankfully I don’t have the required expertise to make smol pones, especially smol and very colored and complex pegasus horses with rainbow manes that make me go ‘Skreeeee’ while drawing them
The ‘face’ or ‘eyes’ of sorts are based on various plane ponies that are consequently based off airliners, I tried to give her that ‘airliner cockpit’ looks of sort like these:
And well, aside from all that, I wanted to draw her like if she was about to hug the heck out of the viewer, I just needed an story to go alongside it x3.
