Had this image flash before my mind at some point and I really wanted to see it for real. I don’t know the connection between Minuette and Neon Lights, but I think she looks pretty in his outfit. Took a couple liberties, because I didn’t want her to just straight-up wear his clothes as is. I also just think rolled up sleeves are better than short sleeves and regular collars look nicer than buttondown collars.
Done so many AI pictures recently, felt like doing something more natural again. The AI might give nice results and all, but you have to accept some level of randomness in the end result. Meanwhile, if I draw it myself, it might not end up looking as good, but I have complete creative control over it. And of course, the first thing I do manually is best pony wearing a shirt and tie.
While my skills don’t show that much improvement (I mean how would they? I haven’t touched a pencil in months), I did employ a few techniques that I learned from my time with AI. For example, I forgot to draw a horn, so I cut it out from an older picture I did of Lyra. And her cutie-mark was also cut out from a screenshot from the show. Because I find cutie-marks tedious to deal with. Also a slightly more interesting background than usual, although it’s still just the paper, but saturated, contrasted and recolored.
