probably my weirdest ship, but I love these two so hard >:D As with Thorax, I’ve given Pharnyx’s design an overhaul just to match his brother a bit better.  
Some background info on how they met; Thorax and Pharnyx are part-time “investigators” in their free time. They’re working on uncovering as much information on their mother Chrysalis, and her lover Starlight. Being another one of Starlight’s victims, Thorax is very emotionally attached to this work effort. Pharnyx tags along for support, but he is more in it for the dirt they can uncover about Chrys. One of their trips led them to Our Town, where residents such as Double Diamond and Night Glider live. Pharnyx was immediently infatuated with DD, and overcome with the need to protect this pony.  
That’s all I’ll say for now lol  
DD still occasionally gets nightmares from his time in the village under the Staff of Sameness’s power, and Pharnyx is always there to comfort him >< also DD and Celestia are like, besties now lol
