I’M DOING A LITTLE SERIES ON MY FAVORITE (yes I play favorites, what am I, mother Teresa?) NEXTGEN HORSE:
BROCCOLI SPROUT!
The series was originally just gonna be a post with a bunch of things Broccoli likes but it got long and involved so. I’m splitting it up into multiple semi-themed posts. First one is outdoors themed! So, two things Broccoli loves about the outside

Hoofball

Broccoli loves playing hoofball! In middle and high school she was on the Ponyville youth varsity team, which she goes on to coach as an adult. She loves how the game can bring together a group of creatures who might not have anything in common…other than a desire to beat the other team. Hoofball is not to be confused with buckball, the baseball-esque game from MLP canon (this is a note to me as much as you because I call Broccoli a buckball player/refer to it as buckball ALL THE TIME). Hoofball is more like rugby or American football, a high contact sport that involves running and kicking a ball into a goal. Broccoli’s position is offensive linespony, which involves tackling and blocking the other players while star quarterbuck Heathcliff scores all the goals and gets all the glory. AND the girls. So annoying. But despite all that, Broccoli loves Hoofball and sports in general. As an adult coach, she always says the friendly competition of sports can be a great outlet for any young pony.
Bugs

Broccoli LOVES bugs! This is a well established fact, since she has a pet parasprite. She loves them for their strength and resilience, bugs survive a missing limb like it’s nothing. They’re hated by ponies for nothing other than what they are, maybe Broccoli feels a little kinship with that. Maybe she just likes how they look!! If you asked her she’d probably reply with something like that and ask you why you gotta over-analyze everything, what are you, her therapist?
