“A while back before I began my MLP redesign project, I considered just reinterpreting generation 4’s core cast in a radically different style. I decided against it pretty quickly, though, and I don’t think it’s hard to see why.
Based on concept sketches by Lauren Faust. They’re not one-for-one recreations because it’s literally impossible to interpret FiM’s style into something semi-realistic without tweaking anatomy and perspective.
I like the graphical, hyperneotonic style of FiM, but dude. C’mon. Those are NOT horses.”

The only one that bothers me is Pinkie. She looks like a wild carnivore after a meal. I can’t help but interpret the slightly darker area around her mouth as the blood of her prey.
Honestly, I think the rest of them are cute.
