The “I’ve Already Won” villainous monologue is a classic and fun to deliver, but it can be a bit disconcerting when you weren’t exactly prepared for it to be serious.

DM: So… I guess we cut back to the wedding hall? Shining Armor is still brainwashed, Cadance has been immobilized, and Spike… is there too.
Princess Cadance: You won’t get away with this! Twilight and her friends will use the Elements of Harmony to banish you all!
Queen Chrysalis: Hmmm, yes, that would be inconvenient… Good thing I’ve got thousands of minions to secure the city, including the vault.
DM: And that’s when the six of you are brought in.
Princess Cadance: Oh no…!
Rainbow Dash: Urge to punch rising.
Pinkie Pie: Stay on target!
Twilight Sparkle: You didn’t mention Celestia. Is she…?
DM: Celestia is… alive.
Twilight Sparkle: …“But?”
DM: But she’s been cocooned in a gooey green pod hanging from the ceiling, sapping her strength and magic.
Rarity: Eugh!
DM: Yeah, it’s not pleasant.
Queen Chrysalis: Princess of Love, Captain of the Guard, Celestia, Elements… I *love* it when the pieces fall one by one.
Twilight Sparkle: Yeah, but you needed reinforcements to take down Celestia.
Queen Chrysalis: Au contraire, my dear Twilight! I took her down all by myself. The love I absorbed, the love your brother has for his would-be fiancé? It was the most potent love I’ve ever consumed. More than powerful enough to overcome an aging alicorn who hasn’t had a real fight in centuries!
Rarity: ^That is the *strangest* compliment…^
Queen Chrysalis: So if your brilliant plan was to take the fight to me personally, I have bad news for you.
Twilight Sparkle: …I’m all out of plans. You’ve won. Go ahead and gloat. Do your victory lap.
Queen Chrsyalis: You’re adorable when you lie, Twilight. But you are right about one thing: I *have* won. Canterlot is now all mine.
DM: …Okay, but seriously: I have no idea where you all are going with this.
