Original Description:
Recently I took over the role of gamemaster in an online group of Tails of Equestria (my little pony themed role playing game). Throughout the last weeks I have created quite a few images of NPCs, scenes, maps etc. to accompany the game as the adventures unfolds.
To avoid spoilers for the players in the group I can only upload images bit by bit and cannot say anything about them that might still be read as a spoiler by any of the players. I am totally obsessed with history so the adventure I prepared is stuffed with alusions to history and mythology (none of which needs to be understood by the players to face the challenges and adventures in store of them).
Our story is set in an Equestria more than 1000 years before the events of FIM (and prior to the fall and banishment of Luna).
In the canon and lore of that world the last conflict between ponys and Griffons ended 27 years ago. In the griffon port of Seaguard the group of heroes saw a very long tappestry depicting the events of that conflict culminating in the (sea)battle off the Galloper Sand near the town of Trottingham on the Griffish Isles (for the record not a single pony or Griffon lost the life in the battle. In spite of the medieval setting there won’t be anything that couldn’t in theory have appeared in the show itself).
This scene of the tapestry (obviously strongly based on the tapesty of Bayeux) shows part of a Griffish invading fleet heading for the Griffish Isles (which according to the official maps is the location of the pony town of Trottingham).
PS: In case there are any mistakes in the Latin text, that’s because it is Old Ponish rather than Latin, and because Griffons rather than Ponies stitched it… and because I am making excuses because in years of Latin at school we never ever learned to actually use the language rather than just translating Latin texts to German ;)
