The day was perfect for mine exploration ! Maud had taken her little filly with her, so that she would not remain alone at home, since Mudbriar and Mordicus were visiting the family. She put Miranda in a bag and went looking for stones. The cave was far enough from Ponyville, but Maud knew what she was doing. Arriving in the cave, she put her daughter down and gave Boulder to occupy her. She began to dig gently with her pick and appreciated the silence of the place. Miranda was playing with Boulder and the laughter of children had attracted a little Diamond Dog, who seemed lonely and lost. Miranda enjoyed the newfriend’s company and climbed on her back. Little Diamond Dog was running around the cave, but unfortunately, the two children ended up getting lost. It was so dark and wet, Miranda, began to sneeze. The little puppy enveloped him and tried to tarnish him warm, until they were found.

Maud appreciated the silence of the cave, but realized that his daughter’s laughter had disappeared. She turned around and noticed that she was gone ! Panic could be seen in the eyes of the poor mare who picked up Boulder and began his search in the cave. She searched every nook and cranny, shouting her daughter’s name, but nothing did…Miranda had disappeared into huge cavities and found it seemed impossible. What was she going to say to Mudbriar ? How was she going to announce that she had lost their daughter ? Maud sat down in the cave and wept, totally panicked by the situation. After a long moment of silence, she got up, got her equipment and ran out of the cave, her solution: Pinkie ! Arriving at the Sugar Cube Corner, she knocked on the door of the store. After a lot of noise inside and whispering, Pinkie finally opened the door and looked relieved that it was just her sister. Maud came in and explained the situation ! Pinkie retrieved her caving equipment and sent Gummy to fetch the rest of his family, each Pie could be used in a cave. Arriving at the place, the whole family looked in every corner. Unfortunately, after long hours, Maud had to face the evidence, Miranda had disappeared ! She collapsed into the arms of her little sister and could not stop crying.

Globe Trotter was visiting the different caves of the regions with his friend Rover. The Diamond Dogs knew the surroundings like his pocket and could thus travel serenely through the caves. However, during their walk, they came upon two children trembling with cold. Globe Trotter advanced to the two little ones, but the puppy began to growl if he tried to touch Miranda.
