“When the Hippogriffs returned to the surface following the Storm King’s defeat, one of the first things they did was construct a statue to honor their own king, who fell in battle to ensure the safety of their kind. Sometimes Novo visits the statue, but often she breaks down in tears. She misses her husband greatly, and holds tremendous guilt for feeling like she couldn’t do enough, especially after seeing him die with her own eyes. That day truly changed her.  
Something of an emotional piece. I have come to my own theory that seeing her husband fall at the hands of the Storm King ended up changing Novo, which is why she was originally so weary of outsiders. It really does add a bit more to her character if you think about it.”
