Mulberry contemplates either going up the stairs or down to the basement. The mare realizes that since there are multiple ways to ascend and going up is harder than going down, that she’ll check the higher floors later.
 
She walks through the storage area and down the stairs to a cellar. It’s also mostly empty except for some broken boxes in one corner, a stone support column in the center of the room, and some giant, decaying casks in the corner. Surprisingly enough, even though there probably hasn’t been any alcohol here for a while the air still smells slightly of wine.
