While their personalities seem quite different, Juniper Berry and Azurite are very close, and have been friends since fillyhood. They’d known of each other by proxy, names mentioned by mothers, quick playdates alongside other members of the gang, waves at parties, things like that. It was when they met in the meadow that they had their first…well, we’ll say conversation. Juniper stumbles upon Zuri, hard at work on a new sculpt, while searching for herbs. She couldn’t help but find herself fascinated how the other filly could see some beautiful figure out of a big lump of rock. She compliments Zuri on her hard work, despite being unable to tell what the figure is (she is later assured its a fox). June continued to look for her plants, quietly throwing in an encouraging word or two. While Zuri replies with mainly “mmm-hmmm’s” she couldn’t deny it was actually kinda nice to have some quiet company (that weren’t her parents for once).
 
 
From there, their friendship is cemented. When Chryssi falls deathly ill, it is Zuri that helps June retrieve the life-saving plant from the San Palomino Canyons. They encourage each other (in their own unique ways) in their respective talents as they grow and refine them. They ride the waves of adolescence and go through the fantastical hell that is puberty together. They appreciate each other’s non-judgmental company and while their conversations do get longer, they often simply do their own thing in the proximity of one other. Obviously, they often get swept up in whatever adventure Athena decides to conjure up for the day. Of course, like any pair of friends, they can argue and hit those rough patches. However, they are usually quite brief, and the two are right back to exploring meadows and canyons side-by-side.
