I’ve had this idea of drawing a decent series of the Apple sisters for a while.  
I think Little Lady and Sweet Bailey have an interesting dynamic.
 
As I’ve stated before, Bailey is trans. She’s always looked up to her older sister as a sort of idle. She wanted to be cool and tough like her big sis. Lady is very independent in many ways and doesn’t appreciate her sibling following her around like a little orange shadow. I think the resentment has always been there but in their early years, it was just annoyance with some mild begrudging affection. Lady would never admit it, but she does love her little sister. She was even happier when it became clear that Bailey identified as female as she did sort of want a sister…maybe not one as clingy as Bailey.
 
I wanted to play with the sisters’ designs. In my mind, even before we were introduced to AJ’s parents, I liked to imagine that the Apples [AJ, Big Mac, and AB] were coded as mixed race. Bailey inherited her grandma’s curls and Lady inherited her facial features.
 
I think I’m going to draw more of these two. I wanna explore their relationship more.
