“Be safe sister,” Celestia said as she retired to her private chambers. Luna nodded in reply and jumped off the balcony into the night sky. The evening’s twilight was one of her favorite times of the day. The ponies of the land would begin to settle down from the activities of the day. It was just active enough that she could see her subjects closing up as their day finished. There may also be a lucky pony able to see Princess Luna gracing the night sky with her presence. Luna landed gently, without a sound, upon a soft cloud in the sky. Her lips pursed into a slight smile, as she looked down to the land. After a few moments her eyes glanced upwards to a cloud ahead of her. With a powerful beat of her alicorn wings a path of clouds settled in front of her. Luna jumped forward to the first cloud then used the momentum from the first jump to carry her to the second. Her hoof touched the cloud ever so briefly. Her midnight blue hoof sunk just slightly into the cloud before launching herself off to the next cloud. Luna took a deep breath of the cool night air, letting it fill her lungs. The wing picked up, running across her soft midnight blue body.
The crescent moon was slowly reaching its peak in the darkened night sky. The stars began to shimmer through the evening’s dim veil. The moon’s subtle and pale glow illuminated the princess’ body. Her ears perked up a little as she heard doors beginning to close. It meant two things, her subjects were safe but were unaware of her presence. There was a single cloud in front of Luna, with a quick thrust of her legs she jumped with ease to it. Her back hit the cloud which bounced her up into a comfortable laid back position.
“Sleep well my children,” she mused. The evening was young and there was much for Princess Luna to do.
