“Dad, wai - Dad, what are you doing!?” Abby gaped as her father stomped towards the scared howler cub. “Stay back, Abigail. You don’t know what that thing could do.” He ordered, pushing his daughter back. Savannah frowned at Beatz who was basically frozen under Abby’s father glare. His horn was starting to flicker and get brighter with sparks.
Elijah immediately sprung into action, planning to save his new friend; Savannah followed him without any question. Savannah stood in front of Beatz, her aqua magic surrounding the pair in a strong shield. Abby’s eyes widened as Elijah slammed himself against her father’s legs; causing her father to stumble and his magic to stop charging. “Leave Beatz alone! She didn’t do anything!”
The father eyed at the two fillies but then his gaze softened a bit as Abby stood with her friends, “Abigail, step back. That thing is very dangerous.” He tried to reason but she only frowned as Elijah stood beside her. “Dad, she’s innocent. Look at her.” She spoke softly and he eyed at the cowering cub, “She just wanted to play ball.”
Beatz’s wide orbs looked at her new friends, surprised. They were protecting her from the hunter. She felt a small smile creep up onto her face as she slowly crawled closer to Savannah. The father immediately thought that Beatz had bad intentions and his magic charged up again. The trio’s eyes went wide as Beatz’s smile dropped, “Dad, no!”
His magic hit the shield, shattering it like glass as Savannah let out a yelp and Beatz jumped back. “This monster took my brother away, I won’t let it take my daughter.” The hunter snapped before shooting again, almost hitting Beatz’s lowered head. “Beatz, go! Now!” Elijah yelled as she stared worriedly at Savannah who was whimpering slightly and her horn was slightly damaged.
Beatz winced when she was hit by Abby’s body, “GO!” She shouted and used her wings to shield any attack. She started running.
The forest glimmered before the colours seemed to darken as Beatz panted heavily; her tiny legs moving as fast as they could. She let out a yelp as a golden magic bullet hit the log she was ducking under. She didn’t know where she was going but she hoped it was far from him.
Her ears caught a loud and rapid thudding; he was after her. The bullets went by her so fast and so much, she was barely missing them. She stumbled and fell straight onto her face and into the bushes. The colours of the bushes immediately changed their colours to match her coat, trying to hide her. Tears streamed down her face as she cowered into a ball, trying to hide even more.
The sound of hooves slowing down was heard as a big shadow loomed over the bush. “Where is it…” She heard him grumble as he started walking slowly, his hoof steps fading.
She slowly stood up a bit and poked her head out. Seeing he was far enough, she let out a sigh of relief. Her heart was pounding as she went back into the bush; thinking of another way to return home. She turned around and-
SNAP.
She jumped a bit, looking down as she raised her hoof and saw a broken twig. A sudden glowing bullet flew past her and she felt an immediate burning sensation under her left eye. She screamed out in pain, closing her eye tightly. Then she saw blood. She didn’t waste any second and ran, sobbing and letting out yelps, calling out to any howler for help. The hunter was right after her now; she was in his vision.
The bullets flew past her now, barely grazing her body. Her adrenaline was pumping harder as her vision was blurry. She tried to at least jump and flap her wings; to fly.
But it wasn’t working; and she was losing hope.
She tripped over a rock and tumbled down the hill. Branches and twigs dug into her skin as she eyes were slammed shut. The hunter jumped down the hill with one big leap as her body was suddenly dangling off of the edge, her hooves digging onto the ground.
She stared up as the hunter glared down at her, tears running nonstop as she let out a cry. His gaze didn’t even soften one bit at her whimpering voice and injured body. She looked behind her and saw a long fall onto a big river, the waterfall droplets splashing at her as her hind hooves were trying to hold onto any rock that was behind the waterfall, showering in slippery moss and water.
“This is for Marcus.”
Her wide teary eyes stared as his horn glowed brightly but then a big, purple snake jumped out of the bushes, sinking it’s teeth onto his neck. He let out a yelp of pain and fell to the side, being pushed by the heavy weight of the snake. Her eyes stared at the familiar bearded snake and struggled to climb up as she was slipping. The snake’s piercing, golden slit eyes looked at her then they dilated at her state and leaped forward to help her.
“SALLY!”
Her hooves slipped as she let out a scream of horror, her body was falling. Her heart seemed to stop as her body hit the river. The cold water was like needles sticking onto her tiny body as her eyes snapped close… Bubbles of air leaving her lips.
Then her body went limp.
