I have been working on this for about three weeks… And I’m SO happy it is done. Also, I reeeally like how it came out.
I wrote a bit about every single picture, so if you’re interested… continue to read :D
If not, then thanks for having a look anyway! :)
First Meeting:
Young Cellini meeting even younger Crispin for the first time. Her little brother was one of the two main reasons for her to try and be as assertive as possible - just so she can protect him (from all the meanies out there)
Nightly Singing:
Flutters and Cellini soon discovered that Crispin loved their singing voices. Though Cellini didn’t immediately understand when it was appropriate to make her brother happy with her singing skills. So in this picture, you see her singing to the little baby since she heard him babbling in the night and she thought he might enjoy a little show. She was right, he does! But Flutters and Big Mac… um, not so much.
Cookie Monsters:
Oh Crispin, Cellini can teach you a lot about the great art of cookie stealing… but for now, you two enjoy your cookies.
…
And a little afternoon nap.
Big Sis Is There:
Bully1: Hey, watch were you’re going, pipsqueak!
Crispin: I’m sorry, I-I didn’t mean to… It w-was an accident
Bully2: the little bwaby is sworry… Are you going to cry now, you little crybaby?
Cellini jumps into the picture
Bully1: awww, is your big sis here to protect you? Please don’t hurt me! I’m soooo afraid.
Cellini: Why don’t you pick on someone you own size?!
laughing
Cellini: Or someone as ugly as you…
Bulli1: Whoa, now you’re dead, you little brat!
…. and then BigMac comes and saves the day! or he doesn’t. It’s up to you.
Crispin isn’t actually a bully victim that often. But when something happens… You’ll bet Cellini will be there to whoop some ass! or at least to insult ponies, even though she doesn’t stand a chance against them if they were to actually attack her
The Trio:
Crispin: Cellini, please tell Congerie to let me go! I need to go help mom in the garden…
Congerie: Cel, tell this little mummy’s boy to lighten up and stop being such a party pooper.
Crispin: I’m not a party pooper!
Congerie: Yes you are!
Crispin: am not!
Congerie: are too!
Cellini: urrrgh, could you two be any more annoying? I gotta study for this stupid history test! So go and annoy someone else.
Saving Fiona:
Crispin: Oh, hey little duckie. Where’s your mamma?
Fiona: nervous quack noises
Crispin: Don’t be afraid. I can help you! Or… well, my mom can. Hey, I’m gonna go get her! Stay right here, I’ll be right back!
And this is how Fiona, Cellini’s duck, became part of the family.
Crisping found her while harvesting his planted herbals (his special talent is grow plants and making medicine out of them). Fluttershy said, she has been separated from her mother and has been carried far away by a particularly strong autumn breeze, since she’s so light. They decided to wait for the next group of her kind to come by and pick her up, since she Fiona couldn’t really give specific directions to Fluttershy… But Cellini decided to try to get her back anyway (without the permission of her parents of course). This was actually how she got her cutiemark. (and a long rant from Flutters to never, EVER fly that far away on her own. Well, we know how that ended…)
Yes, she got her CM after her younger brother. It didn’t bother her in the least. It really didn’t. She was just happy for him. Happy, happy, happy!
….okay, maybe it did bother her.
Don’t Cry
Don’t you hate it when someone you care about is in pain (either physical or mental) and you just can’t help them?
Like, at all? That is how Cellini feels now. They just heard the news that Zecora was killed by a vicious creature of the everfree forest. Crispin was very close to her. He often spend the afternoons at her home, learning about all everything there is to learn about plants and how to grow his own little garden with useful and fascinating greens. Zecora even gave him a copy of her own herbal book for his birthday! He is convinced, she was one of the main reasons he got his cutiemark. She was a mentor to him… So naturally he is devastated when she finds her untimely death.
Warm up
I mentioned before that Cellini played in a rock band in her teenage years.
Before every gig or band rehearsal she warms up her voice at home with the help of Crispin and his keyboard.
He keeps his hair up in a hair tie, so he doesn’t have to deal with strands of hair falling in his face all the time. Also, Crispin is shortsided, so he actually needs glasses. But he’ll switch to contact lenses later on, since glasses always fall from his face when he’s doing garden work or give him a headache because they’re to heavy for his sensitive muzzle.
Casanova
Cellini: Way to go, Casanova!
Crispin: Urgh, why am I so stupid? …. and why didn’t you tell me earlier?
Cellini: Because it was obvious . I didn’t think I’d have to tell you.
As a (almost) grown up, Crispin is quiet the heartbreaker, since all the ladies fall for him, but he never shows any real interest. Or at least he thinks so. But what he is perceiving as ‘just being nice’ means something totally different for mares. It often happens that mares think he likes them in that way, too. Or that they’re even dating! Cellini often needs to intervene, so her brother doesn’t end up accidentally getting married or something.
Seduction
Cellini has a completely different view on this subject. She loves to start little ‘traveling romances’, as she calls them, on her journeys. And being a pretty and confident mare, it isn’t that hard to find a willing victim, eeeer…. lover.
Dreamy
see Casanova
the poor guy just can’t catch a break… Well, he actually doesn’t mind as long as they don’t disturb him and just… ‘stalk’ from afar, he couldn’t care less.
So now you know my babies!
They are the first two characters I ever fully developed (even before Congerie, who btw got an upgrade regarding her looks). I’m relatively new to this Next-Gen-Character-Stuff, so… I hope my attempt is not too crappy.
Sorry any grammar or spelling mistakes. I tried my best, but I’m no native speaker :/
