After the whole incident with Rarity’s missing earring during the start of their summer vacation, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity decide that they had so much fun combing the beach for treasures with metal detectors that they should do it again the next day. Returning to the beach, they rent some new equipment and being walking around in search of buried objects. The only major difference this time, though, is that the girls (at Applejack’s suggestion) decide to forego their sandals and spend the whole day barefoot in the sand. The trio’s activity goes on until sunset, where they decide to take a break and look at some of the more interesting things they have found. After Rarity shows the others the old cell phone she found, Rainbow Dash presents one of her favorite finds of the day: an old pocket watch that (given it’s rather clean appearance) was lost very recently. As a joke, Rainbow bets that she can use the watch to hypnotize her friends into doing whatever she tells them, given how easy people on TV make it look. Though doubtful it would actually work, Applejack and Rarity agree to let Rainbow attempt to hypnotize them and make them her servants for a while, so long as she doesn’t make them do anything embarrassing if it works. Once that is done, Rainbow swings the pocket watch in front of her friends’ eyes and tells them to lock their gaze on it….
5 minutes go by and Rainbow Dash has (surprisingly) successfully put Rarity and Applejack in a hypnotized state. As a test to see if they are faking it or not, Rainbow tells Rarity to call herself a ‘fashion-obsessed airhead’, which she ends up doing. Delighted that the hypnosis worked, Rainbow begins to think up things for her hypnotized friends to do, ranging from turning them into dogs or chickens to having them make out with the first boys they see. Suddenly, a devious idea comes into the jock’s head. Swinging the pocket watch again, she give her friends her command: on the count of three, they are going to believe that they have somehow switched bodies. What’s more, they are going to be stuck in that mindset for an entire week. After they agree, Rainbow erases her involvement from their memories and snaps them back to reality, ecstatic to see that the suggestion worked. Applejack (who now think she’s Rarity) is speaking in a Trans-Atlantic accent and Rarity (now thinking she’s Applejack) is speaking with a Southern accent and even snatches the blonde’s stetson off her head and puts it on her own. When the two girls begin begging Rainbow Dash (who is playing innocent in all this) for ideas as to what to do, the jock comes up with two ideas. First, seeing as how their families are out of town for a week for various reasons, Rainbow suggests that her friends should stay at her house until they figure out what happened. Secondly, Rainbow tells her friends that they should swap swimsuits so they can ‘understand each other’s fashion style’. As Applejack and Rarity rush off to the changing tents to fulfill the second idea, Rainbow begins laughing to herself as she imagines the shenanigans that are going to ensue that week….
