[Previous][Index][Next] [Follow me on twitter?] * * * One of the things that makes me feel kinda awkward and anxious is when I get asked to make “How To”s about my artwork. It makes sense because digging through the How To’s for photoshop made by other artists gave me a massive leg-up on my work, and I still use the methods I learned from them in some form or another even now. I’ve also gotten a lot of tricks up my sleeve which I had to figure out on my own that might be helpful to others, so that’s another reason I should make an extensive How To.What’s stopping me is that making a really good How To that covers all the methods I use would be really hard work.So here’s what I’m thinking: Any Photoshop technique I can explain in words alone, I’m gonna write down here as they come to me. I hope they help!Making Frames: On top of your artwork, make a new layer, fill it white (Shift + f5 by default), select where you want the frames to be with the Marque Tool (M) and press Delete. This will make holes in the layer through which you can see you artwork. Then, from the toolbar, click Layer > Layer Style > Stroke… , and adjust the settings to your liking. This will add a border around the frames which should make them look even better. * * * My Little Pony (c) Hasbro, Friendship is Magic was created by and assistants.
