“Sa paggunita sa kaarawan ni Bb. Pearl Shine at sa araw ng pagkakatatag ng Philippine Bronies Community”  
(In commemoration of Ms. Pearl Shine’s birthday and the founding day of the Philippine Bronies Community)  
Seven years ago, the Philippine Bronies Community, aiming to spread the “Magic of Friendship” inspired by the show My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic was founded.
 
According to peteian , who is one of the early members of the group. The Philippine Bronies Community was created by Patrick Magat and Rose Lucena on August 26th, 2011. The two bronies meet up at a pony board and wondered if there was a group for Philippine fans of My Little Pony. Not finding one Rose proposed to create one to which Patrick fully approved. From then on, this new group gradually received new members and eventually grew ever since.
 
The group hosted the First Pony Convention in the Philippines and in Asia on the 31st of March, 2012, which was attended by many bronies and pegasisters in the country and other neighboring countries. This successful conventions eventually lead to the founding of other brony communities throughout the Southeast Asian Region, and became the catalyst for the foundation of Project SEAPonyCon.
 
We also commemorate the birth anniversary of our dear pony mascot Pearl Shine, which was first named “Philippiniana”. She was created by furriKita (fiaKaiera) at 10:14 in the morning, few hours after the group was established, however her design still underwent some changes, until her final form was approved on the 12th of June, 2012 and again on the 23rd of July, 2017. She represents the brony community in the Philippines for 7 years, and is the oldest pony mascot in Southeast Asia symbolizing the good traits and friendly side of the Filipino people.

In celebration of the group’s 7th anniversary, I did this commemorative vector image as a tribute to the founders and early members of the community.
 
This image is showing Twilight giving her blessing to Pearl Shine to be her companion in spreading the magic of friendship across the Philippines, appointing her as “Friendship Ambassador to the Philippine Islands”. Pearl Shine responded with a bowing gesture, symbolizing respect and her willingness to do the task she was assigned of. On the left are Twilight’s friends, and on the right side are the OCs of the Founders of the PhB, which is Patrick Magat at Rose Lucena, represented by a unicorn and pegasus pony, respectively. The other one is Buckmister, the pony OC of buckweiser, one of the oldest members of the group and former admin, he is shown here holding a book, representing the “Philippine Bronies General Regulations and Code of Conduct” which is until now serves as a guideline to all members of the group, he is currently serving as the advisor of the currently appointed admins of the PhB.
 
The setting of this scene happened on the grounds of Rizal Park, in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Besides the iconic Monument of the Philippine National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, it is also in this area where the famous “Kilometer Zero” landmark stood. This landmark serves as the nation’s starting point when measuring the distance going to the different provinces and cities in Luzon Island and the rest of the Philippines. It’s a befitting location for such group that will start on their journey in spreading friendship across the land.
 
Another thing to be mentioned regarding this image, is it’s timeline. This scene was set back on the 26th of August, 2011. Between the Season 1 finale and the start of Season 2 of My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic. This is the reason why Twilight is a unicorn in this scene, and Pearl Shine’s appearance is different, as this is the original appearance of hers when she was created by fiaKaiera. Giving a full “blast from the past” vibes, and showing, at least in pony form, the group’s foundation happened 7 years ago.
