Artist’s Description
 
After inviting Margarite and Mako to the carnival, Bubble Lee headed home to get ready herself.
 
That night, Bubble arrived at the docks a little early. Her nerves getting the best of her, she started playing with her braid, fretting that maybe she should have worn something else or that she looks like she’s trying to hard.
 
Bubble: shakes her head violently Now stop that! This isn’t a date, I’m just hanging out with friends. Get a grip, Bubble.
 
After waiting for a bit longer, Mako was the first to arrive.
 
Mako: rubs the back of his head Hey. I hope you weren’t waiting too long. I had to close up shop early.
 
Bubble: smiles and waves No, you are fine. We still have to wait for Margarite to show up.
 
After a little idle chat, the two stood in awkward silence.
 
Mako: playing with his side braid nervously You.. um… look nice by the way.
 
Bubble: blushes a little Thanks. I’m glad you were able to come, I know you must be back-logged with work.
 
Mako: shrugs and chuckles Work can wait. Margarite says I should get out of the house more, anyways.
 
Bubble: laughs before looking up at him Thank you for the last couple of days, it’s been a lot of fun.
 
Mako: blushes a little Yeah, I had fun too. he pauses, thinking about the pegasus earlier that day Um.. there was somethi–
 
???: Heeeey~! from the distance, they could see Margarite running up Sorry, I’m late!
 
Bubble: Oh hey! It’s okay, we weren’t waiting long. Are you ready to go in?
 
Mako: putting on a smile … Yeah, sure.
 
After turning in their tickets
 
Bubble: looking at a sign for the show times Well, Singe’s show doesn’t start for another hour, so we can just wander around til then.
 
The three of them walked around for a bit, taking in the sights and sounds of the lively carnival atmosphere.
 
Margarite: ears perked Oh hey, ring toss! I use to be pretty good at this back when I was a kid. pulls out some money and hands it to merchant. She’d tossed the first three rings, missing each time
 
Mako: Ha! With a throw like that, you’d miss the side of a barn.
 
Margarite: huffs and hands the merchant some more money, trying again
 
Bubble: Do you want to give it a try, Mako?
 
Mako: waves his hand Nah, its okay. You two have fun.
 
After many failed attempts, Margarite would give a sigh of defeat, her wallet feeling a lot lighter. They would ask Mako what he wanted to do, but he wouldn’t hear them, engrossed by all the sights and sound of the carnival. Bubble would give Margarite a confused look.
 
Margarite: Eh, don’t worry about it. I’m pretty sure this is his first time at one of these. Damn workaholic…
 
Bubble: ears perked, a little surprised to hear that
 
After a while, the three of them walked down the dock, enjoying the sights and smells. Bubble would run off for a bit, coming back with a bag filled with blue and pink swirls of cottan candy.
 
Bubble: opens the back and tears off a chunk You want any? offering the bag to Margarite
 
Mako: ear twitch, questionably looking at the bag No, its okay.
 
Bubble: tears a smaller piece off her chunk, holding it in front of his mouth Oh, come on. You have to at least try it.
 
Mako: sniffs the piece of cottan candy, his snout scrunching up a little. He opens his mouth and takes the treat, carefully trying not to bite Bubble’s fingers
 
Bubble: notices Mako’s sharp carnivorous teeth, never getting a good look at them before. Her eyes go wide …
 
Mako: Instantly his face would light up, tasting the sweet goodness Mmm!
