Alright, so I wrote a loonngggg rambly paragraph as to why I ship Sunburst and Queen Chrysalis aannnddd to my avail it got deleted! Awesome! So I’ll try to sum it all up the best I can. I’ve been into my little pony for about seven years now, holy shit, and more recently the fandom has been coming up with really absurd ships for their nextgens. Which I personally think is really interesting. It’s so cool to me seeing all the different ways you can interpreted these characters with the already canon material. After seeing all the stuff the fans have been pumping out on deviantart I decided to take my own personal crack at it. Currently my favorite character from the series is definitely Sunburst. I remember when he was first introduced into the show, he’s a nerdy awkward wizard type. Definitely right up my alley. My first idea was to have him eventually marry Twilight Sparkle. The show supplies a nomorous amount of evidence as to why they would work well together. Of course we already know they’re both great friends (starlight’s jealously regarding this was adorable and sad) so why not have them pursue each other romantically? Well honestly something about t felt a tad bit vanilla for me? It’s so hard to explain. I love the concept for sure but it still wasn’t hitting all the right notes. Then of course you have one of the most popular pairings in the show, Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst. Now personally for me this doesn’t work at all. Their relationship is adorable there’s no doubt about it but I see them more having a deep platonic bond rather an a ramontic one. I actually see Starlight ending up with Trixie. I love seeing them quarell only to inevitably realize their faults and fix them again. The foil between them is loads more interesting than her and Sunburst. So there I was pondering about this for a while when it finally came to me. Chrysalis and Sunburst. Tall horrifying bug queen and the quirky magic man. Holy shit guys it’s perfect. It’s so bad but so perfect. It’s got slight Beauty And The Beast vibes and plus their height difference (which I know I butchered Chrysalis is way taller oops) is just my weakness. So! On to a little backstory regarding these two~
 
 
Celestia begins to come very suspicious as to why Queen Chrysalis has yet to reform. Twilight has reported to her of all the havoc she’s caused recently among her and her friends. Seeing Chrysalis as a threat, She gives Sunburst a special mission, to study the beast as much as he can and understand why she refuses to change like the other changelings. Completely flabbergasted by this idea at first Celestia explains to Sunburst that there’s no other way, Twilight and her friends and much too bust keeping the School Of Friendship in order while Princess Cadence and Shinnning Armor have a baby to watch over and an entire Empire to rule. So reluctantly, Sunburst starts his one on one studies with Chrysalis. Initially Chrysalis found his attempts to understand her pathetic. She often found herself toying with him for her own enjoyment. Trappping him in cocoons, threatening him with acid and bombarding him with snarky remarks. But somehow between all of this banter the two end up falling for each other. Which was…surprising to Celestia and the other ponies to say the least.
 
alright fellas that’s all I’ve got so far! What do you think? Should I make it to where after this, Chrysalis finally gets reformed? I suppose that would make sense, but I just adore her design so much. It’s hard to imagine Chrysalis like the sweet gentle butterfly type. So eeeh. Has this pairing ever even been done before? I tried to look up some art for it and couldn’t find a thing. It seems like most people tend to ship Celestia with Chrysalis. Which personally I hate but to each their own!
