My submission for NATG VII: Day 12!
 
Today’s theme was “Draw a pony chasing their dreams / Draw a pony reaching for a goal.” Dashie’s chasing her dreams here and catching some z’s  
I swear it must always be Dashie’s goal to sleep xD She did say she was incredibly good at it.
 
Just another referenced drawing this time (it wasn’t a show reference this time, so here’s the reference) as I’m leaving at 6:30pm again to go to a thing. It seems I draw a fair amount of Dashie sleeping or resting, I think I did it twice last NATG xD But common, how can I help it: look how cute she is when she sleeps.
 
Went for more shading experimentation again. Tried to be a little more heavy-hoofed with it this time, to see just what I could get away with. I’m usually pretty prone to being semi-afraid of doing shading too dark, and often times I’ve done it so light it doesn’t show up in the photo  
Also, in my head it was a morning light, which tends to make more darker shadows, so I was also going for that.
 
Anyhoof, pretty happy with it. Sadly the cutiemark was a struggle this time xD I think I figured out a small technique, though! Which is drawing the inner part of the lightening bolt part first, and then drawing the outline! So hopefully that trick helps in the future owo
