Here's my general headcanons for twi and spike c:

1.    The Sparkles meeting Spike for the first time!!! this is probably a week or so after his hatching; he's just been officially put under Twilight's care. As for what they thought? Both Night Light and Twilight Velvet absolutely ADORED him from the word go. Shining was a little bit skeptical as he spent a lot of time at the barracks and with the higher status soldiers, so his opinions on dragons were definitely a bit more,,, not great at first. He eventually got over it a few years on, but he still did his best before to be as open and nice to Spike whenever he was around.

2.    8 year old Spikes first handmade mothers day present! He actually snuck out at night to find Celestia to get her help on it; she helped guide his writing and painting, and used her magic to bake it when it was finished. Twilight was blown away to say the least, she ended up crying for 4 hours straight when she got it. She would often take it to her classes and lessons and show it off to her old group of friends (like a true mom should). She also got him a matching #1 Assistant mug a month later, and used her mug almost everyday for the next 3 years, at-least-until-the-library-was-destroyed

3. Eguestria Girls. We're kinda magical. Boots on hooves. Bikinis on Top. Furry coats so cu-

5.    Turns out Ponyville winters are a LOT colder than in Canterlot. Twi may or may not have had a week long freak out during that first winter. Spike is tired

6.    Little snapshot of their early Canterlot days; little Spike's prolly about 5-6 here. Twi was pretty quick to start teaching Spike to read, she started reading him her textbooks and stories she found around the library when he was only a few months old. Right now she's helping him read one of the simpler books she has lying around, a story written and given to twilight by Celestia recounting how the Seasons were first created at the founding of Equestria. The princess seems not to be the best at story telling- She practically just forgets one of the main figure's story half way through! Twilight wanted to know more about how this 'Luna' character's story finally ends.
