That character right there though. Yeah, that blue girl with the adorable ponytail. Yeah that character named “Sonata Dusk”. I could definitely see her being a fan of Spike.

Except Faust left the project. She abandoned FIM and left it in the hands of Hasbro, so she relinquished any say she had in the direction the story took afterwards.

Even when she was gone, the writers and showrunners for the most part followed her vision(She handpicked most of them) Meghan Mccarthy once said “It’s cute but they will never get together” and at a fan convetion, when asked about this(After Lauren Faust left the show years ago) they responded with
 
“He’s a child, she’s an adult, it wouldn’t be appropriate.”

As for Dragon Dropped, a poorly written episode by an awful writer who made Rarity look like a groomer.
 
It’s worse in context as well, as it shows her trying to prevent Spike fron having other friends!!
