Following a very heated and aggressive argument with her sister celestia, Luna converts the whole moon into a base. on the surface lay hundreds of factories producing various weapons, vehicles and secret prototypes to use in the take over of equestria and then the whole planet.
If you remember in my Future Fluttershy image the moon had glowing orange marks, well those are the many factories.
