Applejack (normally called AJ) is the middle child of parents and the element of Strength. They’re strongly built and a hard worker. Granny Smith passed a year prior to season 8 so AJ & Big Mac co-run Sweet Apple Acres.
 
In my version AJ’s parents didn’t die until AJ was about 12 and she’s quite a bit emotionally constipated from the event. They don’t talk about their feelings much but are a very trust worthy and kind pony.
