explained if you want:

-discord, pre reform, was and still is the most fun and interesting antagonist and i really liked him. had it been post reform taken into account i doubt he’d be where he is however  
-all of chrysalis’s appearances thus far have been entertaining, and her design is appealing to me  
-glimmy is where she is because it was fun to see a regular pone as a proper season spanning antagonist for once, and i love time travel storylines  
-tempest has all y’need, appealing/interesting design and her appearances are entertaining  
-tirek was intimidating and served as a good villain in his main appearance, and has remained somewhat fun in more recent showings  
-grogar is yet to do anything too interesting, but i am intrigued to see where things go from here. though he probably isn’t going to be “the thanos of MLP” at least in terms of how good of a character he is  
-storm king had entertaining appearances but that’s about it  
-sombra’s quite similar to the storm king in that regard but less so  
-the dazzlings aren’t terribly interesting or entertaining to me, but they get some points for design i suppose  
-cozy would’ve been a far more effective villain, and much higher on my list, if her eventual reveal as a baddy wasn’t so obviously foreseeable  
-pony of shadows is generally uninteresting  
-the eqg shadowbolts are only above F due to qt points  
-mane-iac was intended as a daft throwaway one dimensional baddie, and that’s all she is  
-sunset shimmer pre reform was the most unlikeable POS a person could write, post reform is an entirely different story though  
-the daring do guy is where he is due to the fact he isn’t too interesting, and i find the whole thing about daring do being “real” really daft  
-same for the other daring do guy, but he has an unappealing design to me  
-flim and flam go to space gulag, death to capitalism  
-garble is just annoying  
-daybreaker gets banished to the realm of unimageable horror because fuck the sun fuck her and fuck all this bullshit  
-all hail nightmare moon, S+ by default, probably need to make another rank higher than that tbh
