Personality : Lotus personality sometimes can come up as annoying, they are a extremely calm and carefree pony, clueless and relaxed in a point that is weird, they just don’t show any kind of strong emotions and usually get into trouble for having this personality, because they can say some weird things without context to customers, and it’s hard when everypony around them is probably drunk

Backstory: In the past, Lotus was a very extrovert and energetic little pegasus, often running and playing with their older sister Dahlia, exploring everything and getting into trouble, like a normal kid would do
Of course they didn’t came from a very good backstory
Fluttershy think the only reason Treehugger gave up on them is because walking with a baby in dangerous places in equestria could be problematic, maybe somepony found her plans and forced her to give the baby to the biological father? Lotus was already very sick when they came after all

Zephyr absolutely refused to take care of the kid, he always said he had more important things to do and a good future, being a father was just going to ruin everything, so he kept the biggest distance he could of his own baby, making Fluttershy adopt the kid as her own
Lotus never suspected a thing, they trusted the shy family, already having such a loving life with good parents, things couldn’t get bad at this point

That’s what Fluttershy always expected to happend, until Lotus got emotional bad
This happend after a family reunion, where Zephyr got annoyed by Lotus being only a kid, he begged fluttershy to take the kid out of his view, but it never worked, Lotus was curious, their uncle was a hairdresser! Could he try to give me a hairstyle? Can i see the hair you did to ponies? Can i show you my mom little animals-

Lotus never felt the pain he was feeling at the momment, getting shouted and screamed at, he always lived in such a gentle and caring family, and now the uncle they expected to be cool was saying things about them, saying they look exactly like their hippie drugged mother…? Saying that he didn’t expected Lotus to be even alive at that point
Lotus was panicking, scared, confused, and Zephyr was annoyed, he was angry, he already had a lot of things to deal with in his personal life that caused him a huge stress, and now his kid tried to interact with him after years of avoiding? Of trying to live a life without this kid? Hell no
Zephyr left the little filly in the room, basically having a breakdown, Lotus was confused, and the fact that they now know that their loving family aren’t even their biological one, who is the ‘‘hipppie drugged mother’’ Zephry was talking about? Why?
After this, Zephyr actually tried to apologize, he was just stressed with work and some internal problems in canterlot, but it didn’t fixed the situation, he still didn’t wanted to talk with his kid and just left the place for months

After a whole explanation of the situation, Lotus was just.. Sad, lost, this just clicked something inside of them, it was weird having the extrovert kid not even enjoying the things they loved in the past, they wouldn’t annoy Dahlia, couldn’t even play with the bunnies or fly, always in their room, and just staying inside not even saying a word to Fluttershy or Bulk, wouldn’t tell their school memories and their grades were just falling
In their teenager years, the diagnosis of depression came to the shy family, Lotus didn’t felt anger, they loved Fluttershy and Bulk, but after zephyr just saying how annoying they were it just affected him, and this actually clicked some past memories that they didn’t even knew it existed, even remembering how Treehugger would look like by a baby perspective, the memories of Fluttershy having anxiety crisis because the baby was absolutely sick and wouldn’t get better, the times where Bulk couldn’t even sleep because he wanted Fluttershy to rest, it hurted more than they could expect, they took Zephyr words more serious than everypony expected

Because of this, the doctors gave them some medicine to try to calm down the thing, and now Lotus was just the same as their ‘‘hippie drugged mother’’ losing their original self in a new unnatural thing, consuming drugs to at least feel happy around the family, Fluttershy and Bulk felt bad, and tried to make the best of the situation, but it keep happening, at the point where Lotus is now existing only because of medicines, the only reason they at least try to live or work is because of medicines, and Lotus actually keeps consuming them, the fact that they could be happy only because of such a small thing was incredible, it’s easier for everypony, right?
