Wow, it’s been a while since I made these two as ponies… I’ve gotten used to drawing as humans in case it was easier but i had improved on the pony stuff so yeah, I don’t mind having to draw ponies once more! Anyways, I had been thinking on this recently yet I thought i can re-establish my headcanon from scratch, moreover on the Shadowbolts, since I wanted to make it believable within Equestria and how I didn’t like on what I’ve done thus far for the characters, relatively speaking for the five. One other thing I want to establish once again is how Indigo and Lemon met and bonded through friendship and relationship in Equestria. I wanted to make it plausible and I know I had a few scenarios over their roles yet I thought this concept can emphasize a bit on how they mean to one another… That being said, I was thinking Indigo would lose the ability to fly b/c of an accident when she was in her early teens. Yet to compensate with the inability to fly, Indigo would partake in stunt performances by using her signature motorbike.XP For Lemon, I know ppl often sees her as an Earth pony b/c of being Ponka’s counterpart yet I’d always adopt the fact for her being a unicorn and this time, I’m sticking to it as I’d love for a bit role-reversal of the usual pegasus carrying their non-flying companions and instead have one to being lifted, esp from a unicorn. Anyways, backtracking for Lemon, I think her role would be similar to Pinkie, being able to make ponies smile, either through her food or jokes yet in Indigo’s case, she’ll stop at nothing to make her as very happy pony. The scene in the picture are one of their day-off by going to the outskirts from Fillydelphia (my main setting for the Shadowbolts) for ‘flight sessions’. I kinda wanted to add in the others as I can imagine of them for a picnic but I didn’t like on how it came out so I settle as a ship for a special occasion. And what special occasion you all ask? Why, it’s b/c today is my baby’s well one-half first year as a ship! Practically, I’ve started shipping LemonZap since last year and I never regret on liking the characters whose screentime is minimal yet I love to draw them! I had plans to make a specific anniversary pic yet I kinda didn’t since I was busy due to internet problems and I luckily had this pic in ny St.Ash all week before the wireless device decided to die on me so I had to upload through my phone instead.
