I may need to try a different approach to drawing characters like that in general. I may come back to that comic at some point, but at the moment I was just tired of all the work and fails and putting in double-time on the comics last week. So I shifted focus, made a comic based on a smaller, sillier joke I had thought of as a backup, condensed the workload to 2 panels instead of 5, and switched to a simpler art style I was much less likely to screw up. I actually think the characters look more appealing when I draw them this way that when I draw them normally, but I don’t know how well it would be received making ALL my work look like this, plus I won’t be getting better at drawing show-model horses if I’m not drawing show-model horses, y’know?
Anyway, yeah, this week’s comic is based on Horse Play. Loved the episode. Fluttershy really is a great pony to call upon to fill a role like that, and I understand Celestia’s decision and direction… but when Fluttershy showed up on stage in that Celestia costume, all I could think of was this. So here’s a nice, silly bit of continuity for you all. At least it’s something.
It’s time! For! A new! Day in! Equestri! …A! Looking forward to the next episode! Hopefully I’ll be able to actually draw next week.
Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Princess Celestia, and My Little Pony belong to Hasbro and DHX.
