Description
Page 718 - City of Villains, Part 3The deconstruction of the presumed “party of noble adventurers” and comparisons to petty thugs are as old as tabletop community itself. There are times when certain acts of heroism are unavoidably unsavory, but sometimes the group’s morality is just really that twisted. Around here, and especially in the comments, the latter type of party has a lovely and colorful name: “Murder-hobos.”
Transcript:
DM: And where are captured, de-powered crooks kept? At Trotham’s infamous Balkham Asylum. Here, barring a string a fakeout combat encounters, is where today’s session actually begins. Most of you are gathered in a communal cell, powerless and lacking all of your equipment. Time to plan your next move.
Pharaoh Phetlock: Still going with the Smudge, huh? Was the outfit and facemask really necessary?
Smudge (Pinkie Pie): Mmmmmgh-hhhhmmgh!
Long-Face: It looks nice. I mena, uh, wow, I sure do love being evil. Can’t wait to get back to making ponies all sad… Don’t you agree, fellow villainous types?
Pharaoh Phetlock: Heh. The rookies are way out of their element.
High Heel: Roleplaying evil is very… weird. I get that we’re all bad now… But it’s tough to wrap your head around the mindset of a crook.
Offscreen voice: It’s actually quite similar to adventuring, darling. We have goals…
Mane-iac (Rarity): …and we have an obstacle. The question is, how do we remove it?
Pharaoh Phetlock: “It’s simple. We kill the Power Ponies.”
Mane-iac: Oh, good. <sigh> I suppose getting THAT one out of the way was necessary. Now… Mane-iac will show you how it’s done.
