Eri Ages Reference
Should have made it long time ago. Not only I often need to be sure about the keen details, but I also think it may be confusing for some folks when I draw Eri different. I switch her age freely (personally I love her kid stage the best ). The thing is, as some of you may know, I don’t follow MLP style strictly. My ponies are a bit taller and the original ones seem like my early teens. And, unlike the show, I add this teen stage, which may be confusing indeed.

In TotSCC Eri is not a fully grown up. She’s probably same age as Twilight when she first came to Ponyville, maybe a bit younger. Eri is teen during graduation.

Height for these varies from 1.8 to 2.9 heads while MLP ponies are about 2.5.

My research of MLP bases showed me that ponies have the same nose and eyes size. Ears are different size, head is more stretched for adults. But the most confusing part is, really, eyes and noses. Basically, filly and adult heads are of same proportions (slightly different shape). Which makes it a bit hard to define them without flash models. I don’t have such a luxury. I need a way to draw them from 0 every time. So.. this one will be helpful. I do have this stuff in my head but… I have bad days, the vision is cloudy and I need a sturdy base.

Which also reminds me. I used to think about Mane6 ages. If you want my opinion, I think Twilight came to Ponyville when she was 18. Dashie is immature and accelerated so she’s probably 16. Applejack is young, but seems a bit older than Twilight. Could be 19. Pinkie is older, she fools around but she shows inner maturity in the long run. Could be 20. And 21 for Fluttershy for obvious reasons. Rarity seems most mature, I know a person just like her. She was 24. That’s human age grade. MLP ponies could be about 1.5 times younger than humans of the same inner age. But if they were people (urgh, I don’t wanna mention it when they were people ) they’d probably be of these ages. Oh, and 10k years for Celestia. She’s ancient. No offense, Cel.
