What lied beyond the darkened tunnels was, to no ones surprise, more darkness. The four dragons made their way through very poorly lit caverns and tunnels in an attempt to find a way out. A stray light stone here and there was enough to keep them from running into any cave walls, but didnt alleviate concerns that they would run into a dead end and have to back track to inevitably wait to be found.
“Whoa, watch it Spike!” Magma spoke up when Spike bumped into him almost throwing off his balance.
“Sorry dude, I can barely see anything down here,” Spike apologized.
“Youre telling me,” Sharp remarked, “I can barely see my claws in front of my face. I really hope this is leading us somewhere, I dont think I can stand to be down here much longer, he said nervously.
“Well I have some good news for you guys then,” Snort chimed in upbeat, “Ive never been down this tunnel before, so you guys mustve been right that a path could have opened up.”
“Oh thank goodness,” Sharp sighed with relief.
“Although, that doesnt mean it cant be another dead end as well” Snort added on, trailing a bit at the end.
“Aowww,” Sharp moaned disappointingly, “Dont get my hopes up like that just to cut em down.”
The other dragons had a small chuckle at Sharps dramatization, though no one could see it, both Sharp and Snort were red with embarrassment; Sharp for whining and acting rather pathetically, and Snort for putting Sharp through his mini-ordeal.
“Dont worry Sharp,” Spike said confidently, “Were already finding a new path, so were bound to find a way out, I just know it.” Spikes words of confidence kept spirits high, as the group made its way further into the unknown.
