Spike collapsed in an exhausted heap against the cave wall, completely satisfied with what he managed to accomplish.  
“DUDE!”, Sharp stumbled on over to Spike shaking him back and forth with an enthusiastic glee, “that was amazing! When you did the punch, and the getting up, and the fire breath, and the Hyaaah, and the phhosssh”, Sharp was over excited over surviving such an ordeal.  
“Dude, you saved my life,” Sharp realized, finding he was supporting a rather limp body.  
“I sure did” Spike said with an exhausted chuckle. He sighed and looked out into the opening of the cave which glowed with the blue night sky.  
“I am so freaking glad that I met you,” Sharp continued to gush over his savior. “Had that thing shown up and you werent here its decided, Im sticking to you like sap to a tree, anywhere you go, Im following.” Sharp continued to praise Spike for his heroism, though Spike only heard him trail off as he became interested in his own thoughts.  
While he was relieved that he dispatched the demon dog, he couldnt help but wonder if they were somehow linked to the disappearances of the dragons? And if so, maybe this was his chance to prove himself. He took out one with his fire breath and imitation moves he picked up from his adventure stories he read. Maybe he could be the protagonist in this quest he set out on. He could be the key to finding the dragons, and prove himself to no longer be considered the sidekick, but the hero.  
“Were gonna find out what happened to those dragons.” Spike said abruptly cutting off Sharps continuing praises. Sharp looked at him a bit uneasy.  
“What do you mean?” Sharp asked curiously after being cut off.  
“You saw how that thing went straight for you, I think its has to do with the missing dragons you mentioned, and together were gonna get to the bottom of this.” Spike declared.  
“Youre crazy. I know you took out that thing, but youre crazy. I know I said Id follow you, but youre crazy if you think us two young dragons can do something like that.” Sharp responded skittishly. “Besides I dont even know where to start with something like that, you just exploded the closest thing to a lead.”  
“Well Sharp,” Spike put an arm around Sharps shoulder to calm him a bit, “were just gonna have to head to the source of it ourselves and go from there.”  
“You dont mean” Sharp gulped.  
“Youre gonna show me how to get to Spiral Mountain.”
